Wade K. Blackwood – Partner and Founder
Wade Blackwood is a Partner and Co-Founder of Mobjack Binnacle Products. At Mobjack, Wade focuses on strategic development, political outreach, grassroots awareness, and product production and distribution. In addition to his efforts at Mobjack, Wade leads the American Canoe Association (the “ACA”), a national nonprofit organization that serves the paddling community in every state and 38 countries. Before joining the ACA, Wade was the Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Zota Pictures and served as an Economic Development Volunteer in Honduras for the Peace Corps. Wade’s background brings experience in small business development, business strategy and operations and turnaround/transformation.
Wade serves on a Federal Advisory Committee for the National Park Service and the Board of Directors for the Outdoor Alliance. He holds a BA in History from Hampden-Sydney College as well as an MBA from the College of William and Mary's Mason School of Business. John M. Belniak – Partner
John Belniak is a Partner and co-founder Mobjack Binnacle Products. At Mobjack, John focuses on executing strategic plans, including the growth and development of a national awareness campaign and market development program. In addition to his efforts at Mobjack, John is a Partner and co-founder of Propel Equity Partners, an investment firm, specializing in consumer products. John’s background brings extensive financial, operational and transactional experience across a range of investment banking, private equity, niche consumer businesses and large corporate businesses. Over the course of his career, John has participated in over fifty acquisitions, equity and debt capital raises and divestitures, ranging in valuation of over $1.0 billion to less than $1.0million.
John serves on the Board of Directors at Nemo Equipment, Inc., Veto Pro Pac, LLC and Alex Brands, LLC. He graduated with Honors, Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Hamilton College in Clinton,NY. John is an avid outdoorsman. He and his wife, Megan, live in Rye, New York with their new son.
Dr. Jason McDevitt serves as Director of the Technology Transfer Office at the College of William and Mary. Dr. McDevitt received a Ph.D. in chemistry from MIT, and a BA in chemistry from Yale. He is also a registered patent agent. After receiving his doctorate, Dr. McDevitt held various positions in central research and business development in the chemical, biotech, and consumer products industries. He subsequently worked in the technology licensing offices of the University of Georgia and Emory University prior to joining W&M in July, 2004. Dr. McDevitt is an inventor on 27 issued United States patents, in addition to numerous patents pending covering a wide range of fields including pharmaceuticals, medical devices, polymers, catalysts, textiles, and consumer products. He is a co-founder and CEO of Extinction Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a startup company that is developing a novel approach to treatment of anxiety disorders and other afflictions exacerbated by anxiety.
